HELMETS TO HARDHATS
Helmets to Hardhats is a national, nonprofit program that connects National Guard, Reserve, retired and transitioning active-duty military service members with skilled training and quality career opportunities in the construction industry.
The program is designed to help military service members successfully transition back into civilian life by offering them the means to secure a quality career in the construction industry.
Most career opportunities offered by the program are connected to federally-approved apprenticeship training programs. Such training is provided by the trade organizations themselves at no cost to the veteran. No prior experience is needed; in fact, most successful placements start with virtually no experience in their chosen field. All participating trade organizations conduct three to five year earn-while-you-learn apprenticeship training programs that teach service members everything they need to know to become a construction industry professional with a specialization in a particular craft. And, because these apprenticeship programs are regulated and approved at both federal and state levels, veterans can utilize their Montgomery G.I. Bill benefits to supplement their income while they are learning valuable skills and on the job training.
Health & Welfare Plan
We offer 2 plans to our members that lets them pick which one will work best for them and their families. Our first plan offers 100% coverage with low co-pays and low deductibles, while the 2nd one offers 100% coverage , but with a higher deductible. Our contractors contribute to this every hour you work, above your pay rate, thanks to our collectively negotiated contract. We also offer Vision along with a supplemental insurance from Dearborn National which offers:

Dependent Life Insurance (covers spouse and children)
Blue Edge Dental
Roofers Local Union No 210 is proud to present our newly adopted Dental Plan as an addition to our H&W Package. This plan offers a 100/80/50 coverage for all of your dental needs. It has a low $25 (IND) and $75 (FAM) deductible per year, and is not applied to the Preventative treatments.
National Roofing Industry Pension Plan
The NRIPP was established in 1966 to help Roofers and their families prepare for financial security during their retirement years. Today this fund provides benefits to more than 6,500 retirees and beneficiaries and has paid out more than $550 million in benefits. About 11,000 roofing industry employees currently work under contracts covered by the NRIPP.
Your employer has agreed to participate in the plan and make contributions on your behalf, and when you satisfy the plan's requirements, you will be eligible for a monthly retirement check when you retire from the roofing industry.
Major benefits of the plan include:
monthly payments after normal retirement at age 65 (after 5 years of vested service);
early retirement payments as early as age 55 (after 15 years of vested service; however, if you were participating in the plan prior to January 1, 2004, and have not lost all of your vested service earned prior to January 1, 2004, you may retire early upon reaching age 55 with at least 10 years of vested service);
disability payments for total and permanent disability after 10 years of vested service; and
death benefits to your surviving spouse or beneficiary.
Money Purchase Pension Plan
FNB has teamed up with Alerus to handle our retirement needs with this Money Purchase Pension. We currently offer 41 different investment choices, along with 5 different Investment Program Model choices. This plan allows you to start drawing for your retirement at 59.5 years old. We have a Board of Trustees that meet quarterly to oversee this plan and make sure it working the best it can for our members.
UNITED UNION OF ROOFERS, WATERPROOFERS AND ALLIED WORKERS
The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, based in Washington, D.C., has 22,000 members participating in nine regional district councils across the country. The union represents members who apply all types of roofing and waterproofing systems, including but not limited to: all low-sloped roofing systems (vegetative and solar photovoltaic roofs), structural waterproofing, steep-sloped roofing systems and air barrier applications.
Being a part of this organization offers the chance to work anywhere in the US that there is a Local located. That gives many job opportunities to those that want to travel to different parts of the country. All while keeping their pay rate and benefits.
